B.lab Italia meets adriano design …
adriano design is the brand name used by Davide and Gabriele Adriano to promote their industrial projects and products design. The Italian brothers were born in Piedmont and are both architects. Davide was born in Cuneo in 1968. He graduated in Architecture at the Turin Polytechnic where he recently begun to teach Industrial Design. Gabriele was born in Turin in 1971 and graduated in Architecture. He went on to master in Ergonomics at the Turin Polytechnic where he too teaches Industrial Design. Ever since university, their design projects have been awarded Italian and international prizes and honors, among which many ADI DESIGN INDEX selections. They opened their Turin studio in 1999, after a two years collaboration together with Giugiaro Design, and since then have jointly created innovative products, many of which have been produced by companies such as Scavolini, Centro Ricerche FIAT, Carpigiani, Foppapedretti, Ritmonio, Tonelli, Meritalia, Macaedis, Colomer, CMA, Industrie IFI, Melitta, Cafina, Merlo, Carrara&Matta, Bemis, Ferrero Kinder Sorpresa, Ogtm, Nobili Rubinetterie e Garofoli.

From this collaboration Teckell Collection is born – Teckell, Classic Collection, Mini Teckell, Coffee Teckell and from today Green Teckell, one more ‘foosball’ with a truly original lifestyle and luxury design. The Original Teckell Collection is Adriano Design’s reinterpretation of the table top sport of “foosball”. Quality craftsmanship in every component, establishing an eternal love between the object and it user. It is destined however to live forever, the more it ages the more it becomes beautiful. The result of the fusion between industrialization, new technology and traditional Italian artisan trades. 100% designed and manufactured in Italy. Teckell is not just a simple Foosball game table, Teckell has something more, an stylish reinterpretation of the classic game table. Teckell is no longer that old beat up table in the corner bar that we knew growing up; it has now become a design object with esthetic value. Teckell is characterized not only by its ludic aspect, but also by its’ researched design that frees this loved table top sport from its traditional infantile past. Teckell is now minimal and at the same time sophisticated. If it doesn’t make sense to question the ergonomics of Teckell, it does make sense to acknowledge its invitation to play part in this new concept of foosball. Teckell is like a precise jewel, observed from a far, inviting the intimidated user to touch it. A first touch of the luxurious crystal case is the element which opens up a conversation with its user, installing an everlasting desire to interact with the object. There are really two foreseen uses (the joy of the traditional game and the expression through observation), two aspects that initially seem to be contradictory. This version of foosball (conventionally thought to be a “violent” game) tricks the user into having a more controlled, tactic approach to the game while at the same time caressing the object. Although this highly engineered table is design to be played, it invites the user to change the style of play, to control its shot on the goal. Powerful kicks that no longer blast against the structure as a point is scored now disappear in the silence as the ball is captured in the net, delicate and precise. Teckell is foosball for grown-ups, a game that is no longer motivated by the impulsiveness of our youthful years; it is for who has the awareness of being an adult, of who knows how to control him or herself while continuing to love the game, the game of their childhood.
